Camilla Belle

Camilla Belle Routh was born to Jack Routh, American, and Cristina Gould, Brazilian, on October 2, 1986 in Los Angeles, California. Camilla grew to be fluent in both English and Portuguese and her mother named her after actress Renata Sorrah's character, Camila, in the Brazilian soap opera "Cavalo de Aзo".

Camilla began her acting career by appearing in television commercials in 1987, when she was just nine months old, after the models in her mother's aerobics class suggested she started auditioning. Her first "job" was in a Subaru ad. By the time she was starting school (she attended the independent all-girls Marlborough school), she was also getting her feet wet with appearances in numerous TV and big-screen films and also landed in her first dramatic role: a part in the made-for-TV NBC thriller, Trouble Shooters: Trapped Beneath The Earth. She had minor roles in several widely-released films, including A Little Princess and The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and played the lead in Back To The Secret Garden.
